Steilly Arts: A Website Redesign Case Study

From Wix to WordPress — a refined homepage and a completely rebuilt shop experience.

Steilly Arts is a handmade candle and home fragrance brand based in Steilacoom, WA. Their original site was built on Wix and had outgrown what the platform could offer — we rebuilt it on WordPress and WooCommerce, keeping the brand’s warm, handmade identity intact while completely modernizing how the shop works.

Homepage: refined, not reinvented

The homepage kept its heart. Same hero photography, same wordmark, same warm feel customers already recognized — we refined the messaging, tightened the layout, and added a new “Shop Our Favorites” section so visitors land straight into the product catalog instead of hunting for a menu link.

Shop page: rebuilt from the ground up

Where the homepage stayed familiar, the shop page changed completely. The old Wix shop relied on a clunky sidebar filter system; the new WooCommerce shop gives customers a clean, fast product grid with consistent card layouts, matching brand colors, and quick access to every product.

What we improved

The challenge

Steilly Arts had built a loyal following, and the Wix site carried a look that customers already associated with the brand. The problem was the shop. Its sidebar filters were clunky, products were hard to browse, and the platform limited how far the store could grow. A full redesign risked losing the warmth that made the brand recognizable, so the goal was to change how the site works without changing how it feels.

Our approach

We split the work in two. On the homepage we kept the photography, the wordmark and the overall mood, then tightened the layout and messaging and added a “Shop Our Favorites” section so shoppers reach products in one click. On the shop we started over: the full catalog moved to WooCommerce, with a clean product grid, consistent cards and colors pulled from the brand’s own logo.

Behind the scenes we added schema markup, made the business name, address and phone details consistent, and optimized the key pages for the searches customers actually use. That gives a small, local, handmade brand a stronger footing in search alongside a store that is easier to shop.
