What it did for our own website

Every number here was measured on tacomawebdesigners.com.

95%smaller photo

Our contact page photo went from 3.8 MB to 208 KB.

9places, one step

That same photo was updated on every page and template that used it, automatically.

21 MBwhole media library

About 170 images went from 407 MB to 21 MB.

59 → 89mobile PageSpeed

And 100 on desktop, on Google’s PageSpeed Insights.

File sizes measured at our standard quality setting. The PageSpeed gains came from image fixes plus other speed work on the site.

What’s included

Everything your images need

Four fixes that work together: smaller files, images search engines can understand, faster pages, and a tidy media library.

Shrink every image

Photos straight from a phone or camera are often several megabytes each. We make them a fraction of the size with no visible difference.

  • Converted to WebP, supported by every major browser
  • Every smaller size WordPress makes, rebuilt too
  • Every page, post, and template updated automatically

How it works

How we optimize your images

Hands-off for you, from start to finish.

  1. Review

We look at your media library, your image sizes, and your PageSpeed report.

  2. Shrink

Every image is converted and resized, and every page that uses it is updated.

  3. Describe

Each photo gets alt text, a title, a descriptive file name, and a description.

  4. Check & tidy

We clear caches, check your pages, and remove duplicates once you approve.

Safe and hands-off

Built so nothing breaks

You keep uploading photos the way you always have. We handle the rest.

Originals kept

Your original images are backed up until you’re happy, so any image can be restored.

Same places, same links

Images stay where they are, with the same captions and links. Nothing to re-upload.

Automatic from then on

New images you upload are optimized automatically, so your site stays fast.

FAQ

Common questions

Will my photos look worse?

No. We convert at a quality setting where the difference isn't visible, and we keep your originals until you're happy with the results.

Do I have to re-upload anything?

No. Each image is replaced in place, and every page, post, template, and setting that uses it is updated automatically. Captions and links stay the same.

Does this work with Elementor and other page builders?

Yes. We update image references inside page builder layouts like Elementor, as well as regular posts, templates, and the social share images set in your SEO plugin.

What is WebP?

WebP is a modern image format that makes files much smaller at the same visual quality. Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox all support it.

Can it be undone?

Yes. We keep backups of your original images, so any image can be restored if you ever need it.

Is this only for WordPress websites?

Yes, this service is built for WordPress. If your site runs on something else, get in touch and we'll tell you what's possible.
